Artist’s Statement: | “A selfie has more face and fewer feelings”. It has transformed a simple self portrait into something more immediate, growing in cultural importance, leading to self exploration. The digital world has created daily habits which eventually become addictions to connect with others through online media, taking selfies and clicking likes. Online presence, which is more about gaining status and approval than individuality, can lead to young people being unsure of who they truly are as a person.
